I've been there, done that. . .

. . . when it comes to talking about how texture is the saviour of head-to-toe black attire. This girl gives an ever welcome refresher course in the subject. A brief perusal reveals sequins, leather, shearling, cotton, knit, and probably some polyester or similarly synthetic substance. Glittering statement accessories and a steely model gaze make all of this pretty damn likeable, even in Springtime haze.

Last night saw the Irish Blog Awards in Belfast. I was nominated, shortlisted, and finalised for 'Best Lifestyle Blog', which I ended up scooping, (genuinely) surprisingly. With family commitments here in Waterford (can't get much further from Belfast than that), I found out via Twitter. I want to extend serious thanks to everybody who pops by here, and understand how truly appreciative I am of you guys (and how you seem to enjoy checking out what I am up to) and the award. Thanks to those behind the awards, for their hard work in organising the whole event. I think bloggers as a whole are really appreciative of the recognition you're willing to give. Thank you.

In further news, Paul Galvin (GAA player turned beacon to Irish mens' style turned newspaper columnist) was kind enough to give me a mention in his article in yesterday's Irish Independent lifestyle supplement. Also mentioning blogging belles and personal favourites Angela Scanlon and Blanaid Hennessy, he said:

"Stephen Moloney is the new kid on the block from Waterford who has made 'Vogue' sit up and take notice with 'Stitches| Fabric| and Soul' - a street-style website. Here, here for the bla' blogger and the lads!"

It should be noted that a 'bla' as mentioned above is a floury, carbohydrate monstrosity, originating here, in Waterford. It seems I am synonymous with a bread roll. The glamour.

  15. This girl is amazing, she is elegant and beautiful. Her outfit proves that you cannot beat head to toe black. Simplistic, minimal yet always striking. One of the best outfits I have seen on your blog (which, might i add is fab)!!
